Welcome to the 2009-2010 Arts
Season!
We have a fabulous lineup of events planned for the 2009-2010 season! We would like to say thank you to the individuals, businesses and organizations included in this program for showing their support of the arts by becoming members of the Chillicothe Area Arts Council this season. Their support enables us to bring outstanding programs to our
community. We also want to give special recognition to the Chillicothe R-II Schools, the Chillicothe Development Corporation, Main Street Chillicothe, and the Chillicothe Area Chamber of Commerce for their support and assistance throughout the
year. We would also like to express our gratitude to Sue Bachman and the CHS students who work tirelessly behind the scenes to help bring productions to the stage at the Gary Dickinson
PAC. Finally, thanks to the National Endowment for the Arts, Mid-America Arts
Alliance, Missouri Arts Council, Mervyn Jenkins Foundation, Roger Browning
Foundation, and The Livingston County Community Foundation for providing ongoing financial assistance that is invaluable to our organization. Thank you for your attendance and your support of the Chillicothe Area Arts
Council. --Board of Directors, Chillicothe Area Arts Council
Chillicothe Arts Council Gets $18,000
Published: Wednesday, September 10, 2008, C-T
The Chillicothe Area Arts Council has received an $18,000 grant from the Missouri Arts Council.
While the area council normally receives a grant from the Missouri Arts Council, this year’s installment was more than usual. “And hopefully, there’s more to come,” Gary Miller, area arts board president said today. Miller said that the arts council is planning a $50,000 venue this season and season ticket sales most likely won’t come close to cover the cost. “We’re trying to raise $40,000 through ticket sales this year,” Miller said.
Chillicothe was one of several arts organizations in the area to receive a grant from the Missouri Arts Council (MAC). Specifically, Chillicothe, Hamilton, Macon, Mound City, St. Joseph and Trenton have been awarded a total of $236,749 in grants from the (MAC). The awards are part of $6.6 million in grants announced last month by Gov Matt. Blunt that will be given to nonprofit organizations throughout Missouri.
