Since 1955, Chillicothe Development Corporation continues to promote the economic
development of Chillicothe and Livingston County. Governed by a Board of nine business executives who volunteer their time and talents for the economic betterment of the area,
the CDC goals are to assist existing businesses with expansion and retention and to
attract new business and industry to Chillicothe and the surrounding area.

In 2004, the Chillicothe Development Corporation has contributed funds to the Mudcats Baseball Team, Legislative Days, a Prison Lobbyist for the Chillicothe Correctional Center, Façade Renovations for the Downtown area, 4th of July Fireworks, Boo-Fest, Christmas Parade and Feasibility studies for new economic development. The CDC invested more than $100,000.00 during 2004 in the name of economic development.
