Carol A. Gregg, Owner of Flexible Staffing - a full-service staffing agency,
26-year board member of Missouri Citizens for the Arts, has worked with many rural communities in Missouri to start arts festivals, including
Chillicothe’s Chautauqua In The Park.

Lisa Parrish, Board member and former Administrator of the Chillicothe
Area Arts Council, Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Missouri with emphasis in graphic design.
Judging will take place
at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 6th. A special designation will be posted at
the Winner's booth. Winner will be announced throughout both days of the
festival.

Booth
Set-Up/Security
Friday, September 5, 2008 - 3 pm - 8 pm
Saturday, September 6, 2008 - 6:30 am - 8:45 am
Security will be provided both
Friday and Saturday nights. Exhibitors must have checked in by 8:30 am on
Saturday or the booth space will be reassigned.
Some booths are a distance
from the road, and no driving on the grass
is allowed by order of the City & Parks Department.
If you have heavy items or are unable to carry your booth items, please consider
bringing dollies, carts or extra helpers and/or signing up for our unloading assistance.
This help is available by prearrangement only at a cost of $15 for 30 minutes. Please
indicate on the application if you will need this assistance.

Booth
Information
There are four different types of booths available for the Chautauqua:
- Fine Arts/Crafts
(10'x10' - $70 or 10'x20' - $140)
- Farmers Market
(10'x10' - $50)
- Single Food
(Not-for-Profit - $90 or For Profit - $180)
- Multi-Food:
Food Court ($170)
Booth fee includes space
for two days. Vendors are expected to have booth set up and open to the
public during festival hours both days. Vendors who would like the previous
year's booth space must submit the application
postmarked no later than May 1. After May 1, booths
will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Higher booth
fees will be charged after July 31. No refunds will be given after July 15.

FINE
ART/CRAFT BOOTHS
Criteria...
Chautauqua is a juried show. The jury has established the
following criteria: quality original, handcrafted and/or creatively and
artistically enhanced items. Items for sale must be handcrafted or
enhanced creatively or artistically by the exhibitor. Enhancements to items
must contribute substantially to the value of the item and represent a
significant level of handcraftsmanship. The jury reserves the right to
determine where this line is drawn. Color photos showing detail of
merchandise representative of the work to be exhibited and and sold must be
submitted with the application
and payment. Each category of merchandise to be sold must be represented by
photos. The jury may reject work that differs significantly from the entry
photos, is unsuitable or in poor taste, or that does not comply with the
above standards. The Jury will not consider applications
without photos. All photos will be returned at the
festival. Photos may be emailed to chamber@chillicothemo.com.
The application may be
completed and submitted online also. Commercial items used to display items for sale
may not be sold.
Two sizes are available:
- 10' x 10' spaces are
$70.
- 10' x 20' spaces are
$140.
- Electricity
(110V) is $10 per hookup; 220V is $20 per hookup.
Storage: please place
extra merchandise or boxes under tables or out of sight. Selling from trailers or vehicles is prohibited. Electricity
is available on a limited basis for an additional charge. Vendors must supply their
own extension cords, tables and chairs. Extension cords should be 100' in length and
12-gauge. Booths are measured and marked generously.

FARMERS' MARKET
The cost for a 10' x 10' booth in the Farmers' Market is $50.
Electricity (110V) is $10 per hookup; 220V is $20 per hookup.
Items sold must be
homegrown
or homemade by vendor. Vendors must supply their own tents, tables, chairs,
and extension cords (100', 12-guage is recommended). Farmers' Market
booths must adhere to county health ordinances and will be
subject to inspection by the Livingston County Health Inspector. Questions
should be directed to the Livingston
County Health Center, 660-646-5506.

FOOD
BOOTHS
- Single-Item
Food Booth: A
single food or item that is prepared on site.
Not-For-Profit: $90
For Profit: $180
- Multi-Item Food
Booth ($170): Limited to local not-for-profit groups. May sell a
variety of food and drink items prepared on site in the food court. A
meeting of all registered vendors will be held in June to determine
booth location and menu.

PARKING/VEHICLE
INFORMATION
- Driving on the grass is
prohibited by the City of
Chillicothe. All vehicles must remain on paved surfaces. No exceptions
will be made!
- No parking is allowed in the
exhibit area during festival hours or overnight. All vehicles must be removed from the park by
8:45 am on Saturday
and 9:45 am on Sunday.
- Vendor only parking areas:
In order to better serve patrons of the festival, vendors are
required to park in designated lots only. Parking permits will be
distributed upon arrival at the park for set up either Friday night or
Saturday morning.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Only vendors that are registered with the Chillicothe Area
Chamber of Commerce for Chautauqua in the Park will be
allowed to sell merchandise or advertise during the festival. No raffles
of any kind are permitted.
